"Hi this is Karen for Expert Village and I will be showing you how to make a beef stock French onion soup traditionally uses a beef stock as a base. These are the ingredients we would be using 5 pounds of beef and bones I had this cut up by the butcher in chunks, 3 ribs of celery, 3 carrots, a hand full of parsley stems, 2 onions, 4 cloves of garlic, 2 tablespoon of olive oil, 2 bay leaves, a 1/2 teaspoon of black pepper corn seeds, 1/2 a teaspoon of thyme, and if you like you can add something like parsnip or rutabaga, this is a karobi and it has a similar flavor to a parsnip and I will be using that.
