Nothing satisfies like a bowl of hot soup on a cold, dreary day. Food has the special ability to give us more than just nutrition; sometimes it can make us feel loved, feel like the world is just a little bit better than it was two minutes ago. Homemade cuisine is especially welcome in a society that does everything on the go, including eating. Getting back into the kitchen can be a welcome reminder of what fresh, hot meals taste like, and that Mom’s home-cooked meal will beat fast food any day of the week.
One soup in particular has been attributed with special healing properties. I am, of course, speaking of homemade chicken noodle soup. Nothing works better when you’re sick in bed—or even if you’re just feeling blue. Whether it’s something to do with the food itself, or the person who prepares it with love and care, is still a matter for debate. Nevertheless, chicken soup can sometimes satisfy the deepest needs of the body and soul.

"Hi I'm Karen for Expert Village today we're making homemade chicken and noodle soup lets get our ingredients together before we start to make sure we have everything we need. We'll be using 1 whole chicken cut in 8 pieces, plus additional package of bones and necks and wings of the chicken just add a little more flavor, we're using about 8 carrots, about 8 stocks of celery, a bunch of parsley, 4 good size onions, we're also going to be adding a couple of zucchini this is optional. You don't want that that's fine, and I have a kohlrabi here you can use instead of a kohlrabi you can use a rutabaga you can use a parsnip that's also good 1 or 2 parsnip would be good. Now the important ingredients in the soup are going to be the carrots, the parsley, the celery, and the onions and the optional is the zucchini, and the kohlrabi. For seasoning we'll be using a teaspoon of salt and you might want to adjust the salt later, 1/2 teaspoon of thyme, 1/2 teaspoon of black pepper corns, 2 cloves of garlic, and about 2 bay leaves and of course the chicken noodle soup we'll need the noodles. We're going to be making a large pot of stock because if your going ahead and making a chicken stock you might as well make a big pot and save some in the freezer for other soups. This is an 8 quart stock pot and you'll also need a colander to strain the soup later okay let's get started. "
