"Hi I'm Mark Sullivan for Expert Village. Today we are going to learn how to install a ceiling fan in your home. Now we put the canopy cover on and we are simply going to tighten up the retaining screws. Then we would be ready to install the light kit. Now we have our optional lighting kit for our ceiling fan. How this works is this the part that goes on to the bottom of the fan with the controls that you plug in. But we are going to put a ceiling fan light kit on our fan so we have this optional lighting kit. How this works is you take this plug out of the bottom and then you are going to thread your 2 wires through here. These are going to be connected in a minute and then you are going to screw this part into the bottom of this housing. Taking care not to twist up your wires so you would very carefully be screwing this in. Then now we have our 2 wires that would be controlling the light kit. So we are going to twist these to make them really nice. Get these really tight. Now be careful not to jam little pieces of wire into your fingers but it is nice to have these very tight like that."
