"Hi I'm Mark Sullivan for Expert Village. Today we are going to learn how to install a ceiling fan in your home. We have turned off our breaker which supplies the 110 volt electricity to our light fixture. So it is off. The next thing we would do is take off this whole fixture. So I'm going to climb up to the ladder. Now always be careful when you are working with ladders especially around electricity because this is aluminum, it would conduct electricity. Many electrician use fiber glass ladders just because they don't want to get shocked on a aluminum ladder. But anyway when you are using a ladder always be careful no body over 60 should climb a ladder. We have a standard ladder fold it out, make sure it is locked in, your tray is in place. Make sure it is stable. Anytime you are getting up on a ladder you are exposing yourself to danger a lot of people get hurt on ladders."
