"Hi! My name is Leslie Moselle and I am from Tampa, Florida and on behalf of Expert Village, this is how to do laundry. An important step to remember when doing your laundry is to clean the lint trap. This is a step that people tend to forget but it is so important in the process. Now your lint trap can be located in either two places. It will either be located on top of your dryer or inside of your dryer on the bottom of the door somewhere. Depending on the make and model, will depend on the location. Now you are wondering why it is so important to make sure that your lint trap is clean. The first reason of course, it is for energy purposes. If it is dirty and clogged, it is going to take a lot longer for your clothes to get dry and this is just going to use up more energy and more electricity. But the most important reason for cleaning your lint trap is for safety. The more lint that builds up, the more of a hazard. Your clothing or the lint can catch fire but of course, this is not a situation you want to get into. So you basically after each load once you take your laundry out, just take the extra second or two just to clean off all the lint from your lint trap. "
