How to Wash New Colored Clothes

"Hello, today we are talking about the wonderful world of washing your clothes, and specifically washing your colored clothes. I'm giving you some secrets and some tips. Now, I'm going to ask you a question. Who out there likes to go shopping? Me, me, me, me, me, me! I love to go shopping; I love to get new clothes. I mean, who doesn't, right? Come on. Now how does this pertain to laundry, you're probably wondering. Well, I don't know about you, but when I get home with my new clothes, what I like to do is wash them straight away. That way, if there's any junk from hanging up or being in the store, it's gets them right off. Not everybody does that, I understand, it's okay. Maybe I am a bit of a neatnik, but that's what I do. In any case, when you get new clothes, what you want to do, is you want to separate them come laundry time. Especially things like pinks, things that you think might bleed, because this is their first washing and chances are that they are going to have a little bit of bleeding, and you don't want to wash them with another shirt that maybe is even a paler color. So as you can see, I happen to like the color pink. It doesn't necessarily have to be pink, you could have like a green blouse, but you just want to make sure to separate them--give them a good wash. I've also heard that the day before, you could go ahead and soak these in vinegar. Just soak them overnight. If you're really into preserving color, like if you've got that really beautiful turquoise shirt, and you don't want to lose that color, give it a soak in vinegar and then do a load--by themselves, again, and you'll have that color a little bit longer. So what you want to do is, no matter if it's pink or a different color, wash those colors separately for the first time, and then the next time you wash you won't have those stains or anything to get rid of. So that is why you want to wash your new clothes when you bring them home, separately."
