How to Uproot a Rosebush

"Alright, in the end of this little bed right here, we have a small rose bush which was planted. It was actually a little tiny plant, which is a rose actually. It needs to be moved. Plants like rose bushes and things like that have a root system that spreads out pretty far, so what we are going to need to do is cut back some of the roots that may run out underneath the chives which are next door. I am going to take this shovel, and hopefully we have a sharp enough shovel here to cut some of these peripheral roots and try and maintain the root ball as much as we can intact when we set it over into our pot. So I am going to give it a few whacks here, and hopefully we have cut down in there. This end of the pot is not as deep as the other, so the roots are not going real deep. Okay, let?s try to... I've got a pair of pruning shears here. Let's see if I can get down in there and lay this plant over without getting to much chewed up by the thorns and get her out of there. I have succeeded in cutting some of the top ones, but there are still some of the bottom ones. I have a good chunk of the root ball now, so I am going to give it a life and see if we can't get it out of there in one whack. Alright, there we go. That worked out pretty well. Got a nice looking onion came with it, but I think we got the root ball intact pretty well. I am going to put it in here, and as soon as I find where I want to put it we will transplant this baby out. I can care for it here and put some root stimulator on it, and get it to recovering before it establishes a root system in the pot before I set it out."
