" On behalf of Expert Village, my name is Craig Morrell. I'm with Landscape Restorations in Miami, Florida. We're here at Palm Hammock Orchid Estate and we're talking about planting, and fertilizing. The title of this clip is how to choose pruning clippers based to suit your job. People can spend a lot of money on their clippers and still not have the right tool for the job. There are two basic types. This one is called a bypass pruner. As you can see, this one has been around a while. This one I've had for almost 19 years. The blade and the anvil bypass each other and cut in a nice clean cut. It's very important to keep these things sharp and the springs oiled. They attach in the center and they can be carried conveniently in the pocket. This is an older style where both blades meet together. This is the kind that's very popular in Europe. In Southeast Asia it also makes a good cut but it's imperative that you keep these edges as sharp as possible and that you can't see any daylight between them. Gives you a nice strong cut and is good for older wood, larger wood, or hard seeds. These clip at the bottom. "
