" On behalf of Expert Village, my name is Craig Morrell I’m with Landscape Restorations in Miami, Florida. We’re here at Palm Hammock Orchid Estate in Miami, Florida talking about basic gardening. This video is about the fertile soil concept. One of the more important points in fertilizing plants is to fertilize the soil, you don’t really fertilize the plants itself and here’s a great example, this vista in back of me is an integrated landscaping in which case it will almost be impossible to fertilize each plant individually. So the idea would be that before you put these plants in fertilize the soil and make sure that the soil is fertile so that no matter where you plant your plant in that area, it has good fertility so that I can grown well. The idea is to enrich the earth, not fertilize plants individually, make the earth fertile. Everything grows no matter where you place them, the earth is ours to keep, we should take care of it, the idea is to use a low impact gardening as best as you can, fertilize the soil and keep it healthy and one of the best ways to do that is by using organic fertilizers. There’s a lot of options out there, you can get all the information you ever need from master gardeners and university extension agents, use your options. "
