" On behalf of Expert Village, my name is Craig Morrell I’m with Landscape Restorations in Miami, Florida. We’re here at Palm Hammock Orchid Estate in Miami, Florida talking about basic gardening. The title of this video section is propagation. One of the best things you can do for your gardening career or your garden pleasure is to propagate some of your own plants and then give them away. Here’s a good example, these are rhizomatous begonias where leaves have simply been parked into the pot, within a few weeks these will set roots and if you’re lucky they’ll turn into one of these. So for nothing more than a few seconds of your time and about 20 cents worth of potting material, you can propagate your own plants for either use on your own landscaping or to give to someone else and one of the best things you can do is share your garden with someone else. They’ll help you, they’ll give you plants, you will both get better for it and there’s a lot of good things to be said about propagating your own plants, it’s cheap if you don’t want to go out to a nursery and buy more plants for you own garden, you can propagate your own. There’s a lot of ways you can find this out, by all means propagate your plants, enjoy them and share them with others."
