Video Transcript

"Hello everybody I am David Rodriquez, horticulturist with Texas Agri-life Extension service on behalf of Expert Village and we are going to show you some gardening steps in preparing your vegetable garden for the spring planting. Looking at this bed that has been pre-made here with these timbers that we have it’s about three feet wide. So when you, when you deal with vegetable garden, with vegetable gardening, you always want to make sure when you get the family and kids involved that the beds are easy to work with especially when you get children involved. Now remember the garden bed is rich, a little bit sand, a lot of good compost, a lot of good organic matter. This is three feet wide so a person can go from either side basically arm length so they are not walking in the beds. You never really want to walk in the beds because you compact the soil and the last thing you want to do is make the soil very hard, you want it to be loose like we see it at all times. "
