"Hi! My name is Shaun Appler and I am an investigator with the Wrightsville Beach Police Department and on behalf of Expert Village, I am here to talk to you today about how to deal with an aggressive driver. Now if you happen to get in an accident, whether it is your fault or the aggressive driver's fault or however it works out and you get off to the side of the road and the aggressive driver exits the vehicle and makes contact with you, the best advice I can give you is to be safe. If you fear your safety, stay in your vehicle. Don't get out and confront the subject. A lot of these cases with the aggressive driver they are borderline road rage. So if an accident is happening, you are an additional stressor to what is going on. Remember what I said a lot of times aggressive drivers are borderline road rage so if there is an accident happening, you are an additional stressor to what is going on. Like I said a lot of times aggressive drivers are someone just simply late for work. You are going to get them in trouble by their boss because you are an obstacle in their way. All of a sudden an accident happens and now all of a sudden an additional stress is laid upon them is going to make the situation worse. If you get out and confront them, it is going to escalate the situation and it could be a safety issue not only for yourself but for them and possibly other people. So if the person is being aggressive, stay in your vehicle. "
