"Our next step is removing the pads from the breaking bracket. This one is pretty simple. Other cars you may have a clip that holds the pad in and you have to take the clips out. It's, you just simply remove the pad and you check it over to see how bad it is. As you can see these still have a pretty good amount of material on them, but usually when it wears down it's probably about as thick as this, the backing surface on the pad itself when it gets really bad. You would have a scuffing sound. So then the other thing you want to look for is to make sure you clean all the debris out from around where you took the pads out. There's usually going to be rust buildup from the heat by taking the painted surface off, but usually these things are painted real good. So breaking kind of builds up a whole lot of heat. That is basically how you remove your pads."
