"NATHAN MCCULLOUGH: Hi, my name is Nate McCullough on behalf of Expert Village. In these clips, we're going to talk about the proper way to perform a five-wheel tire rotation. In this clip, we're going to talk about the proper way to seat your vehicle's wheel down before your torquing procedure. There is a specific method you want to use when you're spinning your wheel down to make sure it seats true and balanced. It's called the star pattern. When you're seating your wheel down prior to the torquing procedure, you're going to want to follow what they call the star method. We're going to start, just pick a lug nut. I prefer to use the bottom one. From there, we're going to go to the next farthest one away, which is either this one or this one. We're going to to this one, and then from here, we're going to go to this one, and from here, we're going to go to this one, and from here, we're going to go to this one. As you can see, we drew a five-pointed star with our torque procedure. What that does is ensure that the vehicle's wheel is going to seat flat and true. We'll go ahead and spin it down. As you can see, the wheel centered itself on the very first one. We're just going to go a little past hand-tight on these. You're going to of course have to torque the wheels when it's on the ground. All right, and that is the proper way to seat your wheel before you perform the torquing procedure. You're going to want to repeat the same five-point or star-seating procedure for the rear wheel as well."
