"Hi, I'm Mark Sullivan for Expert Village and today we're going to teach you how to change the oil in a standard internal combustion automobile engine. We have now, we're going to clean the area right around the oil filler and we're going to clean off the oil filler cap and then now that the vehicle is on level ground, we can check our dipstick. First we wipe it to get a fresh reading. Now we place it back into the dipstick tube, slide it all the way in carefully without bending it and then pull it back out withdrawing the dipstick and checking the level. Here it indicates the level is just about full. What we're going to do now is put the dipstick back in, we're going to put the oil filler cap back on and we're going to check that all tools and everything is clear. There are no rags near the motor, there are no tools in the motor. We're going to look underneath the vehicle to make sure everything is clear, all of our tools are accounted for. We have our wrenches beside us, we have our oil filter wrench removed."
