"Hi, I'm Mark Sullivan for Expert Village and today we're going to teach you how to change the oil in a standard internal combustion automobile engine. Now that we have put 3 quarts of oil into the motor, I'm going to level the vehicle because you only want to check your oil level when the vehicle is on leveled ground. So the first thing we will do is lift the truck off of the jack stands. We'll lower this just a little bit. Okay. Tighten it up and then we can start raising it up. So we're going to position the jack under the frame and continue lifting so that the weight of the truck will be supported by the floor jack and then we can remove the jack stands. And we can remove our old oil. It's usually a good idea to put some newspaper on the floor before you start this operation or put some cardboard because you can make a little bit of a mess. Okay so now we're ready to lower the vehicle to the ground. We'll remove the hydraulic floor jack."
