"Hi, I'm Mark Sullivan for Expert Village and today we're going to teach you how to change the oil in a standard internal combustion automobile engine. So the next item you would need to know is where to drain the oil. Underneath the motor there is a drain plug. To achieve access to the drain plug, we would lift the vehicle off the ground with a floor jack. This is a standard hydraulic floor jack. The capacity of this is approximately 2 tons. To operate this floor jack to let it down you simply twist the handle, disengaging the main hydraulic valve. Then to lift it you tighten it up and then with each pump the hydraulic jack lifts higher. Then to let it down you simply twist the handle and it will go down. So this is what we're going to use to lift the truck off the ground and then we will support it with jack stands. You always want to use rated jack stands that are rated for the weight of your vehicle. These are pretty standard jack stands. You can buy them anywhere."
