" Hi, I’m Dean Donnel for expertvillage.com. Now what we’re going to talk about is circulating the oil through the engine. To do this we need to start the car up and let it run 2 to 3 minutes. I’m going to start the car now, the reason we’re going to this is because remember all the oil, the new oil is in the oil pan and it needs to circulate through the engine to fill up the filter and completely circulate so we can get a good reading when we check our dipstick. On some cars you’re going to have an oil pressure gage which should show a reading at this time when the engine is running. On other cars you’ll have an oil light which should be out. Okay, I’m going to stop the car and that’s how we circulate the oil through the engine."
