"Hi, I’m Dean Donnel for expertvillage.com. Now we’re going to install the drain plug. There’s a few things you need to know before you install your drain plug. You can get into trouble if you tighten it and don’t get your threads started right and you cross thread it and strip it, then you’re going to have oil leaks. Also the second thing if you tighten it up too tight and you strip it you’re going to have a problem. Okay, let’s go ahead and install the drain plug, wipe off the excess oil from the pan, I’m going to gently start the threads. Make sure you get the threads started properly so they don’t get striped. We got it bit and good. Now we’re going to use a crescent wrench to finally seat the plug. Remember you just want the plug snug, you don’t want to over tighten it because you can strip it here too, it’s snug. That’s how we install a drain plug."
