on 5/18/2009 Installing the quick oil drain valve is another tip for changing oil. This ball valve replaces your oil drain plug and allows you to drain the oil with the lever. Therefore, you don't need a wrench and make oil changes less mess. Check this site www.qwikvalve.com for more info. I recommend it if you often change the oil yourself.

"Hi, I’m Dean Donnel and today I’m representing expertvillage.com. Today’s topic is basic car maintenance. What we’re going to do today is change the oil and filter on this 1999 Pontiac Grand Prix. Basically changing the oil on all cars is the same, you have an oil filter, you have a drain plug and that doesn’t change. You have various models of different cars though, there’s Chevrolet, Oldsmobile, Pontiac, Ford and changes on the cars are settled as far as different tool you need and different filters and different types of drain plugs. But on some of the foreign cars you might need to use a special tool. What we’re going to do today is raise the car up, drain the oil, change the filter, this is a key to long engine life and that’s what needs to be to keep your engine running a long time. So today what we’re going to do is teach you to change the oil in your car."
