"In this clip we're going to talk about the proper service procedure for removing and replacing a rear axle u-joint on a Ford Explorer. In this step we're going to talk about the proper service procedure for jacking up our vehicle, removing our jack stands and setting it back down on the ground. I'm going to take my hydraulic floor jack and aim for the center of gravity which is going to be right under the rear axle and go ahead and pump it up. Once you have it pumped up off the jack stands you can release the safety catches and slide your jack stands out of the way. Once you have your jack stands out from underneath your vehicle, do not go back underneath it without re-installing them. What you?re going to do is release the tension on your floor jack very slowly and allow your vehicle to rest down to the ground. And that is the proper way to re-jack your vehicle, remove your jack stands and let it back down."
