"Hi my name is Nate McCullough on behalf of Expert Village. In these clips we're going to talk about the proper way to remove and replace a front wheel drive vehicles valve joint. In this clip we're going to talk about breaking loose your constant velocity shaft splines from the spindle assembly. This shaft has been replaced recently, not by myself, but as you can see it moves back and forth. That's good. A lot of times in particularly on Ford vehicles the splines in the shaft will cease up. As you see there's a little hole right here, what that is for is for a punch. You're going to take your punch insert it on the hole and drive those, the CV joint out of the splines. Like I said this has been replaced before, if it hadn't been serviced that quickly it would be ceased up. They all are, every one of them is. You will run into that trouble as you're removing it. Just take some spray solvent, spray it around in there and hammer it in and out, in and out. You may actually even have to start your nut back on it and squeeze it down super tight and that will break the rust loose for you."
