"Hi, my name is Nathan McCullough on behalf of Expert Village, in these following clips we're going to talk about removal and replacement of the vehicle's fuel filter. In this clip, we're going to talk about a few safety procedures when it goes to replacing your vehicle's fuel filter. Fuel is very volatile and of course extremely flammable. One thing you're going to want to do before you open up the fuel system is disconnect the vehicle's battery. What that'll do is deaden the electrical system of the car. So I'm going to take my socket wrench here, I know that this happens to be a 10 millimeter, we'll slip it on the negative battery cable and loosen it. Anytime you open the vehicle's fuel system, you're going to want to open the circuit or deaden the electrical system just in case there happens to be something click on or some inadvertent short circuit. When you remove your fuel filter there will be open fuel and fuel vapor. If you do something like this, you're going to eliminate a possible cause of a really bad fire."
