How to Mount the Universal Adapter

"DOUG JENKINS: Hi. I'm Doug. I work with 20 great guys in St. Louis at Doug Jenkins Custom Hot Rods and we're going to do some work for you today on Expert Village. Instead of a brake backing plate like you had with the drum brakes where all the stuff screws to one big tin plate, the modern style disc brakes all get mounted to this one universal adapter. The way these are manufactured is it has another piece that goes on after the one Mark's putting on and they all bolt to different brackets and each bracket is custom made for each car. So, this goes on here. You put the nuts on the backside. You're trying to keep as much of the bulk of the hardware pointing away from the disc as possible. You end up with a clearance problem if you put the nuts on this side. A lot of video work you'll see done with cars, people spend a lot time prepping parts so they bolt on real easy. This is done in real time here. Mark is taking this stuff out of the box as we go. We've used this manufacturer for a lot of our parts and the stuff we buy from them always fits so it goes real easy."
