The next step is to remove the brake backing plate. The four bolts that Mark is loosening right now hold the brake backing plate through the axle housing. That's all it holds your brakes on the car. He's got a wrench on the backside holding the nut, and he's got his impact gun on the bolt. Each car is different. This is how a lot of GM rear ends are done, Ford rear ends are done, most of them entirely differently than this so if you're doing a Ford, find a different clip to run. Now there's a parking brake cable holding the thing to the car as well, and you'll either loosen up that parking brake cable or just cut it."
