Removing a Car Jack

"In this clip, we're going to talk about the proper service procedure for removing and replacing a front strut on a front-wheel drive vehicle. In this step, we're going to talk about the proper service procedure for re-jacking our vehicle and removing our jack stands and settling the vehicle back to the ground. What I'm going to do is aim pretty much for the same spot I used to jack the vehicle up. You're going to want to do the same. I'm jacking up in the front of the vehicle I'm aiming for a large piece of super structure or engine cradle. You're going to want to make sure that you're not jacking it up on the bottom of the radiator that will bend and destroy it and you'll have to replace it. Go ahead and tighten up my release handle and begin pumping my jack. Alright. Once we have the vehicle lifted off of the jack stands, you can take and flip your release handle and the stand will come down just like so. You can take and slide your jack stand out of the way and go ahead and disengage the other side just like so. Take and set that off. Now what you're going to want to do is turn your release handle counterclockwise very slowly. You want the vehicle to settle to the ground gently instead of come crashing down. I'm going to slide my floor jack out right there. That is the proper service procedure for re-jacking your vehicle, removing your jack stands and settling the vehicle back to the ground."
