"In this clip, we're going to talk about the proper service procedure for removing and replacing a front strut on a front-wheel drive vehicle. In this step, we're going to talk about the proper service procedure for removing our strut from our knuckle and removing the upper mounting bolts on the bearing plate. Now what you're going to want to do is take and grab a hold of the strut and pull the knuckle out away from the joining surface here just like so. That is the method for the lower portion. We're going to take and remove the mounting bolts from up top. Now why you're doing that, you're going to want to hold on to this spring to keep the strut from dropping down onto your constant velocity joint protective boot. And spin them off. Your new strut is not going to come with new nuts so you're going to want to make sure to put them in your magnetic tray for later re-installation. Alright, we're on the last one here. You're going to want to take and hold on to that spring so you don't drop the strut assembly on your CV joint. And there we go. I'm going to slide it down and out. And that is the proper service procedure for removing your front strut."
