In the following clips we're going to talk about the proper way to repack, grease, and adjust your vehicles wheel bearings. In this clip we're going to talk about the proper way to clean up your vehicles spindle and inner races on your brake rotor. This is called the spindle assembly right here as you can see it has all sorts of old nasty grease, rust, dirt, contaminates and things of that nature. What I'm going to do is just take my trusty shop rag right here and give it a good swipe. Your bearings ride on the surface here and the surface here. The seal rides on the surface here and your going to want to make sure to pay particular attention to the seal up here. Your bearings are made of metal and can handle a marginal amount of contamination. The seal is made of rubber, if there is any kind of nicks and tears here that is going to degrade your seal and cause it to leak. Take a swipe right around here real good, these can be wire wheeled if there excessively corroded, on my particular vehicle they're not to bad. Alright that is cleaning up of your vehicles spindle, you can take the same rag and move down and just wipe out the old grease inside your rotor. Let me hold it up for you so you can get a look, this is your inner race and on the out board side is your outer race. We're going to toke and just use the rag and clean all that goo out of there. Alright this is pretty much what your looking for, you can see how we've got the vast majority of the nasty stuff out of it and it's ready for fresh grease. That's the proper way to clean up your hub assembly and your rotor.
