"Hi, I'm Mark Blocker on behalf of Expert Village. We're going to check the terminals prior to jump starting the battery. We want to ensure that each terminal is cleaned and tight. With the positive terminal, you want to check for corrosion. Make sure it's tight, that you can't move it and free of corrosion and generally cleaned as well as the negative terminal. As you can see, this negative terminal is loose. This might quite possibly be the only problem at this time with the vehicle. So you want to stop and tighten this cable and make sure it's cleaned prior to going any further. Loose connections could cause serious problems in the jump starting procedure. Okay let's watch our next segment on determining polarity."
