"Hi! My name is Nate McCullough on behalf of expertvillage.com. In this clip we are going to talk about one of the maintenance steps involved in a major tune-up or vehicle overhaul. This step we are going to talk about is the inspection of vehicles accessory drive belt. The vehicles drive belt is going to be located on the front of the engine. In this particular case, the front of the engine is right here and this is where I find the drive belt. There are several things you want to look for; one inspecting your drive belt. There are going to be cracks, fraying, and any kind of missing ribs or foreign material stuck in them. You are going to want to check the oil service of the belt and depending on the location of the engine accessory drive belt, you may have to even bump the engine over a couple of times to expose the entire belt’s surface for inspection. Pretty much you just take the rib and give it a twist. You are going to want to look inside there; like I said for cracks, fraying, foreign materials or any kind of striation that may be present. Like I said you are going to want to bump the engine over with your hands out of the way of course to inspect the whole surface. "
