"NATHAN MCCULLOUGH: Hi, my name is Nate McCullough on behalf of Expert Village. In these clips, we're going to talk about the proper way to remove and replace your vehicle's thermostat. In this clip, we're going to talk about the proper way to reinstall your vehicle's belt tensioner and serpentine belt. I have the lower bolt for the belt tensioner I already started. It's the same general idea as the upper bolt. I have it here in my hands. What I'm going to do is align these two holes, take and install my bolt and thread it down. Alright, I'm going to stop over and grab my ratchet real quick and try how to tighten our bolt down. Alright. I have my half-inch drive craftsman ratchet with a 17mm 12-point socket. I'm going to take and run this bolt down. Alright. That's good and tight. What I'm going to do now is take and re-route my serpentine belt. Every vehicle comes with one of these diagrams. What this is is the appropriate poly configuration and routing of your serpentine belt. It lawfully shows the tools required and the direction it takes to load and unload your serpentine belt tensioner. It may be located here on the front upper core support. It may be located on the hood. It may also be located on one of your suspension towers. Please refer to this diagram for the proper routing of your serpentine belt. What I'm going to do right now, since I have my serpentine belt tensioner installed and the bolt's tight, is take and slip my 16mm wrench onto the tensioner nut and pretty much do the reverse disassembly procedure. I'm going to take and load my serpentine belt in the counterclockwise direction and slip it up on the alternator. And there you go. That is the proper way to reinstall your vehicle's serpentine belt."
