Removing a Parking Brake Cable

In this clip we are going to talk about the proper way to spin off your lug nuts, remove the tire and remove the vehicle's braking drum if so equipped. Once the lug nuts have been broken loose, go ahead and just spin them off with your 4-way. Okay once you have the lug nuts off, go ahead and place your foot at the bottom of the tire and give it a good stiff pop. That should break the wheel loose for you. If that's not the case, welcome to Michigan. We are going to thread one lug nut back on. Before you do this you are going to ensure to have the vehicle on a jack stand. A jack will not be able to handle the side load that I am about to apply to it. There you go. All right. Remove your tires, roll it off out of the way. You can see a really good view now of which stud is broken. It's going to be the little short guy over here. That's the one we are going to be replacing today. This is a vehicle equipped with rear disc brakes. If your vehicle happens to be equipped with rear drum brakes, removal of the caliper and rotor won't be necessary. You would simply at this point and time remove the drum. "
