on 1/12/2009 Hi, my name is Dakin Stanesic. I am 16 yrs old and my dad just got me a Mazada 3 with a manual transmission. I do know how to drive but I do not know how to drive manual. I watched all your videos and my problem is excatly what is in most of them. Pulling the cluth out to fast without applying any gas or not enough gas. When I do it I first usually don't put enough and then put to much gas. Now, can youn give me any more tips or anything because my dad just keeps yelling at me to get it right.I know it only takes time I just need help on how to fix it plus I don't want to ruin my new car.

"Hi! It’s Rob again with Expert Village and here we have some examples of clutches. These are Datsun 260Z clutches and this one is in pretty decent shape as just like with brake pads you can see there is quite a lot of meat on the clutch disc itself. When you push the clutch, pedal in, it creates a gap between the transmission and the engine and you release the clutch pedal, the disc and the pressure plate are connected and now the engine and transmission are connected and you can get movement. Here is a less worn clutch, slight worn one. As you can see, it is starting to wear out. You can see that it is getting closer and closer to the metal and here we have a totally worn out clutch. There are no ribs left in it or any meat left in the pad of itself. This can happen when you use too much gas and not enough clutch and you are just starting to learn how to drive a clutch. "
