Hi! My name is Nate McCullough on behalf of expertvillage.com. In this clip we are going to talk about the proper way to remove your vehicle's braking caliper. This component here is the caliper assembly and it is mounted in two places; a lower mount here and the upper mount here. As you can see, this upper mount is different than the lower mount. This is unique to this style of vehicle. There is only one bolt that you have to remove; that's down inside here. There is actually no bolt that is accessible through this end of the caliper casting. In particular, this vehicle takes a 7 millimeter Allen. This is the preference I like to use instead of just the angled Allen wrenches that you can get. Go ahead and put it there. Slide it in and make sure you have a good fit. We will go ahead and break that bolt loose. If this happened to have two bolts, removal of both of them would be necessary to get your caliper off. Okay, go ahead and wiggle our bolt out so the threads clear what's left of the hole, roll the caliper up and slide it backwards off the mounting stud, just like so.
