Hi my name is Nat McCullough on behalf of expertvillage.com. In this clip we are going to talk about removing the lower strut mounting bolts. Okay we got a bolt here that we need to get out off the way which actually holds our antilock break wheel speed sensor. Go ahead and loosen them up so we could get access to the nuts before our lower struts mounting bolts. Alright that should be about finger tight. There we go flip this guy out of the way there . These are the bolts we are aiming at. As you could see I have soaked them down with a little penetrating oil that is a good idea to do before your service. This ..happens to be a 17 millimeter I'm going to go ahead and break them loose. That one loose and the break loose the lower one. You are going to want to break them loose both at the same time if you take for instance this top nut out and then try to break the bottom loose you just going to pelvic the whole steering knuckle or suspension knuckle on the rear. Okay. You may need to put in another ratchet on the back side just to hold the bolt itself still while you are removing the nut. Depending where you are located in the country or the world for that matter weather may have corroded some of these stuff up pretty server. I live probably just the worst spot in the US in Michigan and as you could see we are dealing with the rust right now. I'm going to show you a trick here. What we are going to do is use our socket as a punch and drive this bolt through a little bit that would lead us in disassemble. Get that out of the way. That way you are not striking directly on the nut or directly on the threads of the bolts. If you mushroom those threads out you may have to replace that bolt. Alright. Use my screwdriver and drive this guy through. Alright lets get him out of there. And you are going to want to repeat that process for the upper bolt.
