In this clip we are going to talk about the proper way to seat your new valve cover once the gasket is installed. We are also going to talk about one last inspection while you have it off. Now some of these things may apply to your particular engine, some of them may not; but this is the last chance we have to take a look inside. What you are going to want to do is just quickly inspect your cam journals while it is off. Make sure that there are no large pits or damage to them. Also eyeball your timing belt. It may have a belt, it may have a chain. It is a good idea, if you see it, any kind of wear and tear, to look into that in further service. It would just give you a heads up; you don't get a peek inside the engine very often, so you are going to want to take advantage of that opportunity. What we are going to do here, we got all of our gasket installed there. We are just going to flip it directly over on to the engine and seat it in place. Once we have it in place, we will give it a little wiggle just to make sure that everything has seated properly. Alright we are going to want to eyeball all of your bolt holes so they line up, and give it a squeeze. That is the proper way to seat your valve cover.
