How to Check Power Steering Fluid Levels

"Hi, I'm Jake from Burt Brothers Tire, and on behalf of ExpertVillage.com we're talking about fluids under the car today and in particular your power steering fluid. Okay, first of all you want to locate the reservoir and check to, on your vehicle, just happens to be on this Chevy, right here, you can see the cap right here, I'll pull it out. You always want to remove it and you can see the dipstick is on the bottom of the cap here. Always wipe it off and clean it, then put it back on, tighten it back on and then remove it again to find the proper level here. You can see the different levels here, if the vehicle's hot it's going to be up in here, if it's anywhere in cold, it's going to be down here as you're taking the measurement. So, you want to make sure it's all topped off and get the proper fluid from your local parts store or service station to get you taken care of. That'll help with your power steering and keep your car, in that aspect, regularly maintained. Okay so, always check your fluids, keeps everything going and power steering fluid, you want to make sure you get the right fluid, most of its pretty specific, but just grab it from your local dealership or parts store."
