"Hi! My name is Dean on behalf of expertvillage.com. In this clip, we will be talking about what you will need to capture the oil when you drain it and to raise the vehicle enough to get underneath it to do that. You will need a drain pan. You can use just an ordinary pan to catch oil or they do make a regular drain pan for this that you can put a plug in after you are done and it will make it easier to take the oil to a disposal site at the end. Whatever you choose, will work. Today we will be using a jack to lift the car and then we will be supporting that with jack stands for safety. Never get under a car without securing it. You cannot secure it with just the jack; it has to be with something solid. You can also use vehicle ramps which were made to be driven on and those work too and if you do jack the vehicle up, it is recommended that you use regular jack stands. The use of concrete blocks is not recommended as it could collapse if they are not positioned correctly or wood blocks could actually buckle because it requires so many stacked on each other it could give in the middle. The safest best is to use jack stands. "
