"Hello my name is Dr. Susan Jewell, and on behalf of expert village I am going to talk to you about signs of skin cancer. Now, in this clip we're going to look at how to do a skin self-examination. And we're going to concentrate on the torso and the arms on the upper part of the body. So, first you do is find a full length mirror and a well-lit room and inspect the whole front of your body in the mirror. Then turn around and do the same and look in the mirror and look all the way over the back of the body. Then, raise your arms up in the air and turn to one side and then look and inspect the sides in the mirror, turn around look and inspect the sides on the other side. And look for any new changes in moles any rashes, any sores that won't heal. Then, the next thing to do is bend your elbows, and look at the elbow area and then look your forearm and look at the inner sides of your upper arm and outer sides of your arm. And importantly also is to check your palms, look between the fingers, finger nails, if you see any suspicious abnormal rashes or flakiness that's always been there and sores that don't heal. And then, jot all this down onto a diary because it's good to keep a log and a diary of what your last examination was and if you noted any suspicious lesions or unfamiliar changes, then you can consult your doctor or your dermatologist to follow up on that."
