"Hi, my name is Charlie Labarda. I'm here with Expert Village; we're here to show you how to hunt with bird dogs. At this moment you need to reward your dog when they do a good job. Don't use your hand to hit them or discipline, your hands are good for rewarding your dog when he does a good job. If you do other things with your hands or discipline them or hit them, or with your hat they will shy away and your dog won't do what you want them to do. So your hands (Rubs face) "Good boy" and you just give them a pet in the face, let them know they did a good job. Their not perfect, but when they do the job and you reward them with food, treats, things like that. Toby did a real good job; and now he wants to play some more. Sometimes I just play with him; I don't have to tell him to "Sit". He'll just go out and fetch and I just let him run and have a good time. When I make him want to come faster, I kind of reward him by clapping my hands and telling him he's a good boy. After he shakes all the water off and he comes over to me, and, "Whoa", Toby "Sit" and he loves to play. When you let your dog know what they need to do, they will do it for you."
