Video Preview

Introduction

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Step1
Open an existing Microsoft Excel file or create a new one that contains formulas that you want to convert to a value (number without formula).
Step2
Formula Showing In the example at the left (click image to enlarge it) the contents of cell A3 shows a formula to add the cells above it. Our objective is to keep the total number, but get rid of the formula.
Step3
Copy Formula Cell Click in the cell that has the formula, right click the mouse, and then click Copy.
Step4
Paste Special Hover your mouse over the same formula cell, which should now show a blinking, dotted line surrounding it to indicate that the cell is active and copied, again right click your mouse, but this time, click on Paste Special.
Step5
Values On the Paste Special dialog box, click on the left side option for Values. Make no other changes. Click OK
Step6
Value Showing You can press the escape key to exit the copy/paste mode. Now, you will see only a value (number) in the cell where the formula was.
