Instructions
  1. Step 1

    The first and most important precaution you should take is to remove any
    and all ESD from your body. ESD is Electrical Static Discharge, the static
    electricity that builds up in your body and clothes.

  2. Step 2

    Turn the laptop over and remove the battery and the CD/DVD-ROM drive.
    You want to remove the battery to avoid any chance of power being turned
    on during the dismantling process.

  3. Step 3

    Remove two screws securing the laptop memory cover and remove it. You
    don't have to remove the RAM from there sockets Remove the screws
    securing the laptop hard drive or cover. Your laptop may be slightly
    different.

  4. Step 4

    Now carfully remove all screws on the bottom of the laptop. Be sure not
    be force any screws and use the correct screwdriver. If the screws are
    phipps, use the phipps screwdriver that fits in the screws snuggly so you
    don't strip any screws

  5. Step 5

    Insert a sharp object under the keyboard securing strip or the center conter
    cover and carefully start lifting it up. Continue removing the strip with your
    fingers. Here is where you should very careful with the strip because it has
    a control board attached to it. Don't rush this step since it may take some
    time to remove the keyboard strip.

  6. Step 6

    You don't have to but next you may want to remove the Wi-Fi card cover,
    the modem cover and but you will have to remove all screws from the
    underside of the computer.

  7. Step 7

    Remove all screws securing the laptop keyboard and disconnect the
    keyboard cable from the system board. Lift the edges of the connector
    first and then carefully disconnect the keyboard cable

  8. Step 8

    Remove the four or six screws securing the LCD screen to the computer
    and with one hand remove the monitor. With the other hand, you will need
    to disconnect the power connector from the motherboard

  9. Step 9

    Now you are ready to separate the upper part of the notebook called the
    Palmrest and the lower section containing the motherboard. If may take
    you 3 to 5 minutes for this process if your laptop is new. Take your time
    and don't force anything. After careful prying the components apart, your
    laptop is now disassembled down to the motherboard
