"Hi I’m Daniel Keeper owner and operator of Zoo Keeper Exotic Pets in Austin, Texas and on behalf of Expert Village.com; today we will be talking about some of the supplies that you may need to support your exotic pet. Here is sort of a bagged, another version. You can just go and use potting soil from a home improvement center. Make sure it doesn’t have fertilizer in it. If you end up with a dry animal like a bearded dragon or a frill dragon that we looked at earlier, this is called desert blend. It is basically a crushed walnut shell. It works really good and absorbent. Works great. The other stuff you see here real briefly is just plants, decorations. Some of that stuff you may think is fluff but for animals that are very nervous, having a hiding place is very important. It can reduce stress and make your cage look good as well. Ultraviolet lighting we talked about earlier with the bearded dragons and some other desert loving animals. This is a very powerful ultraviolet light. It also puts out heat. Another ultraviolet light is a fluorescent type of a light. This puts out ultraviolet light with very little heat. So depending on what you need, some of this stuff might be for you; hiding places, water bowels, more hiding places and light fixtures."
