"Hi I’m Daniel Keeper owner and operator of Zoo Keeper Exotic Pets in Austin, Texas and on behalf of Expert Village.com; today we will be talking about exotic pets; in this case, the chinchilla. A chinchilla is an overlooked pet. They don’t sell nearly as well as some of the other pets like ferrets and things but they really should because they have a lot of really neat things going for them. Their fur the claim to fame on chinchilla’s is that they have the softest fur of any animal on earth. Their fur is so dense that even fleas can’t live in them. They come from the Andes Mountains so they are cold weather animals and so they do well in an air condition house or apartment. They don’t make much noise. They don’t have scratchy claws. They are little aloof in their personality but once you get a good one like this they really turn out to be a nice pet. They will drink out of a water bottle. They have a special diet for chinchilla’s but it is very inexpensive. They hop around. They like to nibble on things. They love raisins as treats and they make a really good pet. Be sure to get one as a baby and they will bond with you and learn you as well as you learn them."
