" Hi! I am Dr. Adrienne Mulligan, I own Camp Verde Veterinary Clinic, and I am here today on behalf of expertvillage.com to talk to you about cat obedience. Now something we have not worked on before and this might scare him, but there is a type of training that can be used in all animals called clicker training. I will talk more about it later, but what I wanted to show you right now is, when you are clicker training, you want to get a noise to tell the cat that it is going to get a treat, and so you take a treat and you go and you put the treat down. He is a little nervous, but when you are home it is not so bad, and then give him another treat, and you do that over and over until every time he hears that, he realizes he is going to get a treat, and you do that several times until pretty soon the click means treat. And then you can use the click as a way to give him a reward anytime he is doing something good, like say he is interacting with a new cat in a good way. You can clicker him. When you clicker him, you have to give him a treat, because that is what it means, that it lets him know that he is going to get a treat. "
