" Hi! I am Dr. Adrienne Mulligan, I own Camp Verde Veterinary Clinic, and I am here today on behalf of expertvillage.com to talk to you about cat obedience. So when you are working with a kitty on socializing, getting along with strangers, or just basically being able to take it outside and not being afraid of everything, it is nice to have restraint, and these harnesses for kitties are perfect, and I know I love you I need you, you are a good boy. So I am going to put this on him, now it gets a little bit less trying. So having a harness on them, and so say you want them to get used to company, this little guy really runs when company comes. So if you have the harness on him when you know company, is coming, then you can put his leash on so that he does not go hide under the bed. So he sort of has to stay out. The best thing is to let him be as far as you can from the new person, so that he does not feel too infringed upon, so he can come around the person. Now it really helps if from an early age, and I keep stressing from an early age, if you start getting your kitties to like treats, it is really helpful, because then if anybody offers them treats, they are going to like that person more. So really working on getting, finding the treats your cat loves, and giving him lots of treats, helps to be able to train him in any manner you want to train him, whether you want him to get comfortable around people; and you want them to give them treats or whether you want to teach him to do tricks.
