Series Summary

Pets are often considered to be more than just animals. Our pets are our loved ones, our friends, and sometimes our children. Properly caring for pets is important, since we have domesticated these animals from the wild and taught them to expect to have their needs met by humans. In order for the pet-human relationship to work, we have to do our part.

In this free instructional video series, learn what that part is. Our expert will show you how to care for kittens. Like babies, kittens require a little extra caution. Learn kitten grooming tips & techniques, how to administer the right types and amounts of food and water, how to handle newborn kittens and keep them warm, and how to care for the mother cat.

Video Transcript

"H! I’m Carolyn and I am going to demonstrate on the care of a little kitten. You should always comb them to get them used to it plus they usually are messy and dirty believe it or not. So you want to get underneath more so than on their back which is what people want to do and you get under their little arms; that’s where it tangles the most and inside the legs. That is the most important and that is where people don’t do it. That’s what mats. Be sure to check their rear end in case they have got poop stuck there and she doesn’t. I like to cut the hair off the rear when they are little but you always comb them. It makes a gentler pet, the like it and don’t forget their face. They love their cheeks combed. They could almost go to sleep when you do that. "
