"Hi! I am Dr. Adrienne Mulligan; I am the owner of Camp Verde Veterinary Clinic. I am here to speak to you about breeding cats. So now that you decided to breed your beautiful purebred cat, you have chosen a breed; and you studied that breed, and you know just what you want out of that breed. You find your males and females, and you breed them, and then in 65 days or so you are going to have some kittens. Now usually the queen will go and find a quiet place; you can make her a bedding, a bedding place that she can have those kittens, or she will go find one in the closet; most of times she will go find one in the closet or in your bed. And she will have those kittens, and she will lick the placenta off of them, she will consume the placenta, she will roughen them up with her tongue, and get them breathing and nursing. But if, for any reason, she is having trouble during labor or with the kittens as they are coming out, I am going to tell you some things that you can do about that. So the labor usually will be over within a few hours, and it will be usually be about 20-30 minutes between kittens as long as she is not straining."
