" Hi! I am Dr. Adrienne Mulligan, I am the owner of Camp Verde Veterinary Clinic and I am here today on behalf of expertvillage.com. I am here to speak to you about breeding cats. When you little household kitty goes out catting around, and actually is in heat and gets pregnant, her gestation period or her pregnancy period lasts approximately 65 days. Now one of the things that you might take as a clue that she might be pregnant is when you have a cat in heat, they are pretty vocal, they want to go out, they may run around and knock everything off your shelves, they take a definite personality change and they just simply want to go out and go catting around. If you notice that has stopped or slowed down, and now they are happy to be home then she might be pregnant, so that is one possible way. There are other ways to tell that have to do with her body shape, but that won’t come on for about a month about halfway through, and then they begin to put on some weight and get some mammary development, and I can show you a kitty that is sort of will look like that.
