Train a Kitten to Use a Litter Box

" Hi! I’m Dr. Adrienne Mulligan and I am the owner of Camp Verde Veterinary Clinic and I am here on behalf of Expert Village.com to talk to you today about caring for kittens. When the little kittens are less than 3 weeks and you are stimulating them and teaching them to go to the bathroom, later they will begin to do it on their own and believe it or not, they are going to find their way to litter boxes and learn to use this on their own. It can help to put them into their little litter box and move their little feet around but they will get the hang of it extremely quickly. If mother is around, she will do that for them but if not, then you can help them with that. It is good to have a litter pan with a low side so that they can get in. Litter pans come in all different height and sizes but getting even just a little bread, this is a cooking pan, and just a cooking pan will do. This is a type of litter called clay litter and clay litter will absorb a lot of fluid but you have to sort of pick out the feces with it but otherwise you just mix it and let it dry up and absorb the liquid. That is a little bit different than a clumping litter which we can talk about in a few minutes. "
